EXPANSION AND MASTER PLAN IMPLEMENTATION

University Medical Center West Expansion – This project included the structural design for a two-story (with a full basement) 57,000 square-foot addition hosting “in patient” surgical theaters and associated treatment facilities, as well as, the structural design required to support modifications to the existing seven story tower constructed in 1961.  The new and existing building was constructed using drilled pier deep foundations supporting reinforced concrete frames with precast, thin shell panels exterior walls.

ZONE A NORTH EXPANSION

This project involved the structural design required to support modifications to the existing building and the structure for a 94,550 square foot, three-story plus basement addition to the existing hospital. The project was originally designed to be a 67,030 square foot addition to be bid in phases; however, to facilitate a compressed construction schedule and incorporate Owner requested modifications to the project scope, the addition was redesigned after the 95% design review submittal to increase the size of the addition approximately 23,000 square feet.

8TH FLOOR STRUCTRUAL PROJECT

This project required a structural analysis of the existing hospital building and the design of a helipad for medical evacuation helicopters to land on the roof of the hospital.
